“Guess what? Our partner CODE Lancashire just snagged the Coding Initiative of the Year award at the UK Dev Awards 2024! It’s like winning the tech skills Olympics in Lancashire!
They’ve been on a roll since 2022, teaching folks how to code in just 12 weeks. And get this, they’ve already whipped up six batches of over 150 Lancashire locals into coding wizards!
But wait, there’s more! They’re not just about coding; they’re about opening doors to anyone keen on tech, especially those who might not have thought they’d ever crack the code.
And the best part? They’re not just about teaching; they’re about getting people into jobs. They’ve hooked up 47 eager beavers with tech gigs in just a year and a half, with nearly half of them being awesome women and other gender minority folks.
And guess what? They’re not stopping anytime soon! They’re already onto their lucky seventh batch of Lancashire super coders.
Paul Aisthorpe, the CODE mastermind, is over the moon he said to us ” We are so proud to have won the Coding Initiative of the Year at the UK Dev Awards. From our inspiring learners, passionate and dedicated team members, industry professionals who deliver on the programme, and the tech businesses that have engaged with CODE, we have been able to create something that’s truly unique, accessible and that delivers impact within the thriving tech sector for Lancashire and beyond.
Our consistent commitment to CODE has created a vibrant community and has transformed our candidates into skilled contributors of the industry and the next generation of digital talent.”
